WH at the Wheel
It's the spontaneous moments that enrich a mother's life. Today, I waited in the car as baby slept in his car seat while dad was with the two boys getting our taxes done. Then dad popped up, kurplunked WH down in the drivers seat, letting me know he wanted mama. WH turns the wheels both ways, then turns toward me and with a rather serious tone, asks me in a whisper "how come it's not going?" Oh priceless. These moments a mother has to cherish.

Sesame Street Teaching It's OK to Have Two Dads
God is good. Sometimes he allows us to see things in order to protect ourselves, our children and our family....from the evil one. Well, he allowed me to see something that helped me to make an important decision regarding my children's formation.
The other day I decided I'd give Sesame Street a second try. (I tried it 2 years ago with my first child, but I wasn't impressed with an episode that was a play on Desperate Housewives, which had the puppets moaning and groaning in a way that I thought wasn't quite appropriate for 3 year olds.) As a side note, I haven't even checked if they pulled the episode with Kerry Perry singing alongside Elmo in her bust-revealing shirt.
I recorded one episode. One night, one things were running a little wild in the house, I thought I'd let the boys watch a little Sesame Street. I decided to breastfeed the baby in the room where they were watching. A clip comes on with children singing a song all about Family. "My family is me, my family is my brother and sister, my family is mom and dad, my family is dad and my other dad." And I was like "what?" Did I just hear that or was I dreaming. A little later on is another clip comes on with a song showing images of familes. And wouldn't you know, they have two men holding their child. Man, was I angry. It's just not fair. But should I be surprised? There is a very calculated agenda that from a very young age (2?), children should be taught that it is NORMAL to be Gay, it is completely normal to have two dads or two moms. And now the truth of the family unit which God created, a Father, a Mother and a child, is slowly being erased.
We need to fight this! How can we do it? Well, stop watching Glee and Modern Family to start. Don't buy the Glee music CD's. Because when we do this, it supports the agenda of those trying to deform what a true family is.
It breaks my heart that I have to raise my sons in an age where everyone is trying to celebrate that which is disordered. But at the same time, it gives my husband and I the opportunity to really form ourselves in our rich, Catholic faith and become ardent defenders of the Truth!

Daddy's Birthday
The boys had a wonderful time getting the details ready for dad's birthday. JV made a homemade card and gift. We blew up balloons. JV embellished the cake with strawberries on the side and we ate a delicious dinner. Besides that, we had extra treats throughout the day and lots of time with Daddy. How blessed we are to have such a wonderful Daddy and hubby!

Baby Sleep
I haven't written for a long time....because there hasn't been much free time. My little guy, now almost five months, has a new little routine where he goes down at night at around 8:00, sleeps a half hour, and then is up for three hours. That's fine. Babys are always going through different stages. We just need to go with the flow, be patient and loving. So, God's will for me right now is getting my sleep and taking care of my little boys! Good night!

My 'Go for it' two-year old
My little tw0 year old keeps me on my toes and keeps me laughing. After a long day (they're especially long when Dad's not home in the evening), I was winding down the day with the bedtime routine - bath, story, bottle pj's, brush teeth, etc...
My two-year old scoots around so fast that sometimes I feel like I run a decathalon every night just keeping up with him. Keeping one step ahead of him is key. But the minute I slip up, he's all over it. My husband and I finally got smart and bought the toddler-proof locks for the doors and the fridge. With all the opening and closing of the cupboards and fridge, I occasionally forget to put the lock back on.
So I hear my 4 year old screech - "Mom! William!" I do the 100 yard dash to the kitchen to find Willam taking off with half of the gingerbread house. My 4 year old intercepts and recoups the house, but then William chuckles and show me his mouth with candy melting in it. Perhaps if it were anyother kid, you may say, ah let him have the candy. However, the night before, I did let him have the candy and I paid for it. He refused to go to sleep, and only fell asleep around 10:00pm. So I wasn't about to let that happen again. I scooped the candy out with my finger, and luckily he didnt' resist. I think he knew he was 'busted' and 'guilty.'
Afterwards, I have to laugh to myself. He saw an opening and he went for it. He'd make a great little football player. I can imagine him doing the Hail Mary pass.
